Privacy Policy

This is a plain-language privacy policy for the Scenic Route Society mobile app. It describes exactly what the app does today.

Who we are

Scenic Route Society ("we", "us") is a road-trip planning app. Questions? Email hello@scenicroutesociety.org.

Account info: your email address, display name, and handle, which you give us when you create an account.
Content you create: routes, stops, saves, check-ins, comments, reviews, and photos you upload.
Push notification token: if you allow notifications, a device token so we can send you alerts.
Basic technical data: standard app and server logs and crash diagnostics used to keep the app running.

We do not collect your location. We do not sell your personal information.

To run the app: show your saved routes, your profile, your check-ins, and the community feed.
To let you upload and share routes and photos with other members.
To send notifications you opted into.
To fix crashes and improve the app.

We use the following service providers, who process data only to provide their service to us:

Content you choose to publish (public routes, comments, reviews) is visible to other members and visitors by design.

Delete your account: Profile, then "Delete account." This permanently erases your account, routes, saves, check-ins, and photos.
Notifications: turn them off any time in your phone's settings.
Access or questions: email hello@scenicroutesociety.org.

The app is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we don't knowingly collect their data.
